This is a great book, written in a way that the ordinary non-theater person can easily read and understand. It is the most common-sense analysis of literature I have ever read. Actually, I can't believe someone else did not write this book a long time ago. It seems so obvious to understand Shakespeare this way, and yet only in 2021 did we get this kind of insight. Bravo to the author, who actually mentioned Shakespeare at a time in Western history when the great bard has been eclipsed by NetFlix and smart phones playing short entertaining memes nonstop for melted minds. No one born after 1990 even knows who Shakespeare was, much less what his contributions were to the kind of entertainment we enjoy today. I give this book an A+ and as many "Likes" as I can click.
